Thereby driving advocacy, projects and policy reforms for libraries in African communities.

The YALLF in its first year will build capacity of 20 emerging young library leaders from across Africa through collaborative learning approaches.

The fellowship will provide platforms where young library leaders in Africa will be engaged with practical approaches, discussions and interactive sessions on how they can drive progress across the Sustainable Development plans through equitable access to information.

Based on the Young African Librarians Trend Survey conducted by Library Aid Africa, course module for the 2020 cohort will focus on media and informational literacy, advocacy, programs, communication skills and capacity on how libraries can support sustainable development plans. The combination of these skills will improve the capacity of young librarians in Africa to facilitate local impacts targeted at improving access to information and knowledge for all through functional and efficient libraries.
