LibrarySelfie 2021: Ayikuma Mobile Library Returns for a Second Session

In late 2021, the Ayikuma community in Ghana became a hub of creative learning as the Mobile Library and Art Exploration project returned for its second session. Supported by Goethe-Institut Ghana and led by the LibrarySelfie 2021 winner from Ghana, the initiative continued its mission of making reading an enjoyable and accessible experience for 210 children in the community.

The project demonstrated that libraries are most effective when they step outside their walls and meet communities where they live. By combining storytelling with hands-on art sessions, it created a space where children could engage with books through creative expression, proving that a mobile library can be just as transformative as a permanent one.
