March 6, 2026 | 2 mins
Research has shown a clear gap between traditional library education and the LibraryTech skills librarians need today. While library schools provide strong foundations, many librarians are not fully prepared for the technological demands of modern library services.
To understand what librarians need to scale and innovate, we conducted the Librarians Trend Survey 2023, which revealed the skills librarians want to learn and guided the courses now offered on LibraryXAfrica.
LibraryXAfrica is a 1-year intensive learning program and a dedicated edtech platform that equips library professionals with practical, hands-on LibraryTech skills. Librarians go through experiential learning, hands-on projects, and internships and are able to apply these skills directly to improve library service delivery.
LibraryXAfrica offers courses including;
- Library software engineeringLibrary Data Analysis and Management
- Libraries and AI
